The QIPCO Guineas Festival 'Pick 4' Competition - Saturday 30th April 2011 Day 2

One of the highlights of the international sporting year, it’s like going to a football international at Wembley, a test match at Lord’s or a Six Nations rugby game at Twickenham – this is the big event at the Home of Racing, a must for any sporting fan.

It’s a chance to enjoy flat racing at its absolute best, with the spotlight on the first two Classic races of the season, The QIPCO 2000 Guineas on Saturday and The QIPCO 1000 Guineas on Sunday.

The atmosphere is electric – you know you’ve come to a very special event, one that really matters, as the world’s best jockeys and trainers compete for glory on the hallowed turf of Newmarket’s Rowley Mile.

Both The QIPCO 2000 Guineas for colts (fillies can also take part, but do so very rarely) and The QIPCO 1000 Guineas for fillies are run over a mile and represent the first big test for the three-year-old “classic” generation in Europe. It is at Newmarket that reputations are put on the line for the first time.

Don’t forget to enter our Pick 4 competition – it’s free and you could win your own 20 guineas (£21) on Saturday or 10 guineas (£10.50) on Sunday! You just have to select the horses that you think will win the first 4 races and make your selections on this thread. Entries have to be posted by 1.45pm at the latest. If more than one member picks the first 4 winners, a random draw will take place.
