GOALS GALORE COMP UPDATE

Obviously, football has had to take a back seat with the Coronavirus problem but nevertheless we have a competition that is 5/6th's of the way through and there is money to be won.
As we have no idea as yet whether the season will restart, we will have to pause the comp until a decision is reached.
If it restarts, we will play to a finish. If the season is deemed to be finished without playing any other games, then the prizes will be paid out based on week 31 table which is as follows.

Payouts will be piss poor, mate. Only a total of £170.95 in the kitty. These would be the current prizes. (Subject to confirmation)

Team Comp winner 10% = (£17.09)
Joint Winners £55.39 each. (£110.78)
Joint 3rd places £7.86 each. (£15.72)
5th - 12th places £3.42 each. (£27.36)

I will be leaving my £3.42 in the kitty for next season and if anyone else wants to they can tell Phil to with hold it.

As it doesn't look like there are going to be many games played this season apart from The Premiership and possibly The Championship, i reckon the table will have to finish as it is.
However, there are 5 bets still to be placed so when the fixtures are announced, we can spread the bets over 5 weekends to try and boost the kitty up.
Anyone with other thoughts/ideas add them to this thread.

Well as it hardly makes any difference to me mate it’s probably best hearing from those at the top - whatever the decision I’m sure we’ll be behind it.

I personally think we should finish the comp in some way.

If theres going to be 10 matches per weekend why not ask everybody to pick 4 matches where BTTS or something so that those that are in that block just below the top 4 have a small chance of catching. Also there is still a chance the Championship games will be added to the fixtures so this could then be made to select 8 again or something.

Just my thoughts.......

As these are exceptional times if it is decided to continue with the comp maybe open it up to include European leagues. Just a thought but I am happy to go with the majority.

I think everybody has made valid points. And like you say we are all grown ups and get on...and tend to sort things out amongst ourselves very well. I tend to think we have to try to finish . I certainly hadnt gave up..there was a 8 coming ...so who knows but with less games becomes less chance as people having same etc etc...as always i will be with the majority...(watever that is..lol)

I'm only 4 points adrift of 4th place, And as you know I always finish strongly probably a couple of 8s at least

But I'm happy with whatever gets decided

Just a idea is there any foreign leagues we could use

We'll have to leave it until the fixtures are announced. There was only a maximum of 5 weeks to play anyway.
One possibility could be choose 4 matches instead of 8 but have double points. If anyone gets all 4 correct, they just get the eight points. Not 12.
At least picking only 4 matches will give others a chance of not choosing all the same matches.
