As the England football team make their final preparations for the start of the tournament, children and adults across the country have been gripped by football fever by collecting Panini football stickers.
Filling a sticker album is a popular past time for most children. However, there appears to be a growing number of grown men and women who are embracing the traditional past time.
Collectors have used social networks ahead of this World Cup to update people on the progress of their collection and to trade swapsies using the Twitter hashtag #gotgotneed.
Panini was founded in 1961 by the Panini brothers in Modena in Italy, but it wasn’t until 1978 that Panini became popular in the UK.
With the World Cup set to kick off on June 12, many collectors are trying to fill their 640 sticker album before the tournament starts.
Are you organising a swap shop event in Norfolk? Are you in competition with your family or work colleagues to complete your sticker album? Have you completed your collection already?
